Rachael Ray Hard Anodized II Nonstick Cookware

February 11, 2017 By Tina

Looking for a chic cookware to compliment that newly renovated kitchen of yours? Well, if you’re a fan of mod colors then Rachel Ray’s Hard Anodized II Cookware might just be the next ‘in’ thing for your kitchen.

This Rachael Ray cookware reminds me of a tiger’s colors, with its bold black pots, saucepans and skillets and strong orange colored handles. It’s extremely empowering and makes you want to cook up a storm.

Perfect for Beginner to Intermediate Cooks

Riding high on the ‘ Hard Anodized ’ trend, this cookware is electrochemically anodized to make the cooking surface harder, more durable and less susceptible to corrosion….in laymen terms, the cookware is safe to use for a long long time. Plus the interiors sport a non stick coating so you can cook what you want without having to grease your pots and skillets the way Mr Universe competitors coat every inch of their bodies in oil.

The cookware fits in the featherweight category and their rubbery orange handles have a firm grip and this gives you confidence in not tripping and spilling that oh so tasty pumpkin soup in the stockpot that you’re carrying while kids run rings around you declaring their war against your pumpkin soup.

Another plus is that they come with interchangeable tempered glass lids that are crystal clear and allow you to see the status of the food you are cooking. Now this is very innovative as it saves a lot of storage space for the glass lids.

Feels Slightly Fragile

Unfortunately this tiger like cookware has some shortcomings. For one, the material is considered to be somewhat thin. Hence, the food you cook heats up rather fast and heat distribution can be quite uneven. You might char a chicken or two before mastering the art of using this particular cookware. And while you won’t create a hole in the pan just by knocking it, it does have a fragile feel. This cookware needs tender loving touch.

The glass lids though interchangeable do not come with vent holes, so if you’re boiling / steaming something with the lids on, don’t leave your kitchen for too long.

And even though the handles have a firm grip, the rivets that lock the handles to the lids and pots / pans / skillets might come loose over time.

While I love non stick cookware, the coating might irk health conscious extremists (with all the articles floating around the internet about toxic vapors coming out of non stick coatings when exposed to high heat and turning us into X Men wannabes). So always be careful not to expose the cookware to extreme temperatures.

I have mixed feelings about this cookware. On one hand, it has a sleek and gorgeous look, on the other hand, it does have a rather delicate feel. But for a cookware that costs less than 200 dollars you can’t really complain. You can get this cookware set here .
